FACE DON’T LACE IT

There’s been this one really trending hashtag #metoo. Many celebrities and almost every girl I know used the same and posted stories, edited posts and what not. But what change did it brought, to be honest nothing.

I guess that’s why they label it trending because it becomes talk of the town and sure it was the talk of the social media. Unfortunately it faded with time like the other hashtags but what surely didn’t change was the number of increasing victims, the number of monstrous eyes, the unforgettable and bruising touch.

No complaints or judgments about the victims but a question, is this what our lives have turned into just a hashtag? Question yourself and your surrounding because if I had to use the hashtag (which I am ungrateful to be using and which any other person is not supposed to have used), was the fault ours. Most would say on your face it’s not you but them and then turning back the statements would be vice versa. The fault is of every single individual starting from the one who was the wretch moving on to the person whom we shared the incident with and was totally unresponsive. And the fault was equally ours to trust those ungrateful rats.

Dear human take a stand for yourself because at the end of the day it’s you who have to survive. You got this beautiful life, be fortunate enough to cherish it. Live each day, no one knows what would their last breath be like. So if you have this moment, make it count. BREATHE. JUST BREATHE. You have that strength in you to gather up all your courage and stand tall to whatever comes. Face it don’t lace it.

Hashtags, your social media followers everything will come and go what stays with you is you. Bless yourself. Change yourself and the world around you will automatically change. An unfortunate incident doesn’t define you but how you react to it surely does. So think, prepare, act.
